Okay that's clearly an over-edited image! 😆
Anyway! Hello all! I am Aparna (go by Ash too) and I was able to get my first tech job without ever giving an onsite interview! This made me super confident when I entered the job market again two years later, thinking I could crack every security engineering job interview out there! But (as you might have guessed already), I was not ready for what was coming my way. Heck, I wasn't even half-prepared for most of the interviews I gave in the first 2 months then! My first interview in the new job-hunting season was scheduled with Google, next Facebook, then Uber, followed by Airbnb and then came Snapchat. And this was in the first 3 months of applying to these companies. So clearly, my resume was not the issue. I soon realized the pattern, the expectations, the trends of questions in these interviews. In fact, I ended up interviewing with 35 companies (all top Fortune 100 companies) before being able to draw out inferences on the gaps I could fill to crack them! I was rejected by most before landing a job at Microsoft 🥳
These tough rejections though, ended up polishing my interviewing skills. I made notes, commonly asked questions, frequented topics and many company and team specific focus areas. And now, I want to share it with you 🎉 This course is a way for me to give back to the community and help others stuck in the same place I was. Do make use of them and share your feedback with me!
